This bespoke airing cupboard was designed to marry high-end aesthetics with practical functionality, fitting seamlessly into the alcove for a tailored, built-in look.
Constructed from Finsa crown-cut oak veneer, the interior was treated with two coats of Osmo Raw Transparent, preserving the wood’s natural, light appearance while providing durable protection.
Smart Functional Design
To ensure the unit functions perfectly as an airing cupboard, we prioritised ventilation and usability:
• Optimal Airflow: We integrated slatted shelving and custom diamond-cut holes in the door panels to maintain consistent air circulation.
• Integrated Lighting: For a touch of luxury, internal LED lighting was installed, controlled by automatic door sensors for effortless visibility.
The Exterior Finish
The exterior was finished in Farrow & Ball Slipper Satin eggshell, providing a soft, sophisticated contrast to the oak interior and ensuring the unit complements the room’s decor perfectly.
